Chiroubles

[Français]

Sheltered in a granite basin at an altitude of 400 meters, this is the highest of the Beaujolais vineyards and one that produces exquisitely-flavoured, soft and supple wines that are bright red in colour, with a splendid mix of floral aromas – peony, lily of the valley, iris and violets. Light and fruity, they are very typical of the region’s style. Serve chilled at 12°C, with cold meats, poultry, white meat and hors d’oeuvres. Average annual production: 20 000 hl Average number of bottles: 2,7 million Area under vine: 370 hectares Soil type: porphyry and granite
