Children's Miracle Network (CMN)

Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for and awareness of children's hospitals. Begun in 1983, Children's Miracle Network's first fund-raising effort was a television special broadcast by 30 television stations and originating from a small studio in Provo, Utah. That first year Children's Miracle Network and 22 hospitals in the United States raised $4.7 million Now Children's Miracle Network produces the largest television fund raiser in the world. From 1987 until 1995, the annual 21-hour international television special originated live from Disneyland. In 1996,CMN again took up the mantle of leadership and moved its annual broadcast to Walt Disney World and an exciting sports format. The fund raising campaign and broadcast, both called CMN Champions, now benefit 170 children's hospitals. "Children's Miracle Network Celebration" airs over a caring network of 200 television stations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and annually benefits 14 million children suffering from every affliction. In 19 years, CMN has raised more than $1.4 billion for children's hospitals-$239 million in 2001 alone.
