To Councillor Amber Morley:
I read with interest your Update – I cannot support the revised 220 Lake Promenade development application – Amber Morley, Etobicoke–Lakeshore. I congratulate you on your opposition to that massive project.
As you know, my wife Anita and I, we live directly in front of James S. Bell Junior Middle Sports & Wellness Academy, on 31st Street. The school buses and car traffic in front of our property and our neighbors’ properties, is already at a critical level. It would be a disaster if Lake Promenade Co-Tenancy would be authorized to build over the present limit of seven storeys.
As a retired engineer, I am worried that the applicant is able to continue with the City’s development application review process, potentially making further revisions, until a report is prepared by City Planning and goes to City Council for a vote, or can choose to appeal its application to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).
For us, it is essential to preserve the residential character of Long Branch by not allowing the promoters to build over the present limit of seven storeys.
Yours truly,
Amarjit Dhanjal
