David Emile Marcantel was born in 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his B.S. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1971, and his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University in 1976. He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar and the U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana, in 1976.
Since 2002, David has served as the Chief Public Defender for the 31st Judicial District of Louisiana. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Davis Parish Bar Association, and The Louisiana Association for Justice. He has also been a state licensed title insurance Broker/Producer since 1982, and is an agent of First American Title Insurance Company. David has engaged in the general practice of law since 1976, and specializes in Bankruptcy, Criminal Law, Successions, Wills, Estate Planning, Real Estate Sales, Mortgages and Donations.
