Subryan, Marian
Notes for the celebration of the life of May Subryan, on Saturday December 21, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 940 North Park Drive, Brampton, Ontario.
-----
Born in Manila, in the Republic of the Philippines, Marian Bejar was the third child of Herminia Dacanay and Mariano Bejar.
On December 16, 2013, we have received a reminder of the fragility of our human condition: we know when our human life starts but we never know in advance when it is one’s time to pass to eternity; in the case of May B. Subryan, to proceed from her Paradise Gardens, in Brampton, to the gardens of Paradise.
Whatever we have been destined to contribute to family and society, we have to achieve within a timeline which is out of our human control.
Thank you, May Subryan, for the significant contributions you have made as a family member, as a spouse, as a mother of two, as a grandmother of two, as a senior employee of the City of Brampton and as a friend to so many.
You have touched us all one way or another. We will keep preciously the vivid memories we have of you: an awesome and highly sociable person, your warm welcoming to all in your life, in your home, at differents events such as your annual picnic in the park, and at your different camping grounds.
We will always remember your generosity towards others, your volunteering to help whoever was in need of a hand to organize a family gathering, your excellent cooking, your sparkling eyes, your engaging smile, your diplomacy whenever, in discussions, one of us was venturing too much out of reasonable grounds or engaging in doubtful logic, your formidable energy enabling you to juggle with success family work and city work while, at the same time, making yourself available to be an important part of ATS Engineering in functions ranging from promotion at trade shows to bookkeeping.
How did a soul from half way around the world could meet here a person from South America and fall in love with the one who would be her lifetime companion ? A special alignment of the stars must have happened to lead a small Filipino woman with a big heart to meet in Ontario, Canada, a tall Guyanese from Bath Settlement. From your union, a great family was created and friendships were developped for the benefit of us all and of our communities.
Today, while celebrating your life, we have to be thankful to have been priviledged to have known you and to have enjoy so much from your presence.
Farewell May, farewell.
