Sylvestre, Paul-François

With a diverse career as a writer, publisher and journalist, Paul-François Sylvestre has played an important role in the promotion of the Francophone culture and heritage in Ontario. His writing includes six historical novels, and over 15 essays. He is a mentor for new writers and a leader in the development of Franco-Ontarian literature and thought. His essays and contributions to newspapers and magazines have profiled Franco-Ontarian life, history and literature. He is a founding member of the Association des auteures et auteurs de l'Ontario français. In the past, Mr. Sylvestre has been honoured for his services to the Franco-Ontarian community, including his contribution to the growth of French language and culture in Toronto. He is also the author of three gay novels. He was awarded the Order of Ontario in January 2008.
