Ghislaine Sirois has worked within the feminist movement since 1979, firstly as a volunteer in a sexual assault aid centre. In 1992, she was hired by a Francophone association combating violence against women, called Action ontarienne contre la violence faite aux femmes. She worked to implement the organization’s mission, namely the development and promotion of French-language services, training, creation of French-language materials and prevention of violence against women. In conjunction with the network’s member organizations across Ontario, she sought to improve access
to services in French for Francophone women who were victims / survivors of sexual violence.
