Tall, Cheick
[Français]
Cheick Tall immigrated to Canada almost 28 years ago. Upon completion of studies in political science at the University of Ottawa and a broadcasting diploma at Algonquin College, he began a career in media. He delivered turnkey private radio stations in Africa and then went on to work for CBC-Radio Canada (operations) in Ottawa and subsequently as a manager with CPAC, Rogers TV and TFO. He most recently worked on the November 15, 2010 launch of La Radio communautaire des francophones d’Ottawa.
As a French-speaking immigrant, Cheick Tall is especially proud of having found a balance between his African roots and the reality of Canadian life. He now works as an economic development officer with RDÉE Ontario, acts as a media and communications consultant, and sits on the boards of many local francophone organizations such as La Cité Collégiale, le Festival Franco (Ottawa) and Le Théâtre de la Vieille 17.
