Garrett, Robin
Robin Garrett is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC) since August 21, 2006.
Robin brought with her a wealth of experience in her leadership of OTMPC. Robin served as Assistant Deputy Minister of Investment and Trade at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade where she helped market Ontario to the world. She helped expand Ontario’s international presence by opening four new international marketing offices for Ontario in Tokyo, London, New Delhi and Los Angeles. Robin also oversaw the development of a new ad campaign and helped attract some outstanding investments such as those by Toyota, Dell and Honda, to support job creation and the economic health of the province.
Robin brought to the OTMPC substantial experience in association management that earned her a reputation for creating clear strategies and delivering results. During 16 years in this field, prior to joining the Ontario government, Robin served as vice-president of member services for the Food and Consumer Products of Canada and director of research and communications at the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association. Her involvement with statistical research and trend forecasting is a great asset in her leadership role with OTMPC.
Earlier in her career, Robin held various positions at the House of Commons, including the Prime Minister's Office, and worked as a research consultant with Public Affairs International, now known as Hill and Knowlton.
