Anne Gilbert is a Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Ottawa, and is also the Director of the Centre for Research on French Canadian Culture. She is the author of two recent publications on the Francophonie in Canada. Territoires francophones was written under her direction, and it brings together various geographical studies related to the vitality of Francophone communities in Canada (Septentrion, 2010). L’espace francophone en milieu minoritaire au Canada, a work jointly written with Joseph Yvon Thériault and Linda Cardinal, discusses the emerging issues relating to the development of minority Francophone communities (Fides, 2008). Her current work relates to the effects of the border on everyday life in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
