Ouellette, André

Born in the province of Quebec and raised in Ontario, André Ouellette has been an Alberta resident since 1979. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and having tried his hand at other careers - journalism and teaching high school - Mr. Ouellette completed his Law degree at the University of Calgary . Since 1984, he has been in private practice as a criminal lawyer. He is a monitor for the pleading training sessions at the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, and a presenter for the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), the Alberta Bar's continuing legal education body. He is especially proud of his involvement in the pleading training sessions in French Language and of his being the first to plead cases in French before a jury in Alberta. Mr. Ouellette has been a member of the Language Rights Panel for the Court Challenges Program from 2001 to 2006.
