Renée Soublìère joined the Official Languages Law Group of the Department of Justice of Canada, as a lawyer, in 2000. Bachelor of Arts, University of Ottawa (University of Ottawa Gold medalist), during which she studied a year at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in Lyon, France. Graduate of the French Common Law section of the University of Ottawa Law School (Magna Cum Laude). Before clerking with the law firm Nelligan O’Brian Payne, she obtained a Masters in Law from the University of Ottawa. Her thesis, which dealt with language rights, was published in the Revue de la common law en français, 2001, Vol. 4: 1. She has since written other articles and given presentations in the area of language rights. As Litigation Coordinator, she is responsible for the general coordination of all language rights cases in which the Attorney General of Canada is involved.
