Subject: Merry Christmas

Honourable Premier Jim Prentice:

You are a man of culture. In addition, I am happy to say that every time I have heard you in French, your command of this language came out as outstanding. I wish to commend you for your superior knowledge and ability to understand the constitutional situation of the French language and culture in Canada as a whole, and in Alberta in particular.

On behalf of French-language people in Canada and in Alberta, I wish you and your family to have a most Merry Christmas. At the same time, I wish to express the hope that you will do everything in your power to eradicate from all official Alberta documents the expression "Foreign language" when the French language is involved. I am sure that your educational background and your admirable knowledge of the French language enable you to understand how strange, as well as how historically and constitutionally wrong it would be to maintain such an inconvenient expression, to say the least, in Alberta's governmental documents.

Honourable Premier, thank you in advance for every step you will take in 2015 to resolve the issue outlined in the foregoing. I would appreciate it if you could keep me posted with regard to the concern of the Canadian citizens I represent.

With my Best Wishes,

Yves Breton
