Marjie Brown grew up in Terrace, British Columbia, and holds a degree in French Literature and History from the University of Victoria, as well as a certificate in Études des francophonies from the University of Ottawa. After working at the Association of universities and colleges of Canada (AUCC) and completing an internship as a legislative assistant (official languages and constituency issues), she joined the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne (FCFA) du Canada in May 2013 as coordinator, Immigration – analysis and collaboration. She contributed to the development and implementation of new governance structures for Francophone immigration, including the creation of the National Community Table on Francophone Immigration and the joint Citizenship and Immigration Canada/Francophone Minority Communities(CIC/FMC) Committee in the fall of 2013. She is also responsible for research on Francophone immigration at the FCFA and co-chairs Pathways to Prosperity’s Standing Committee on Francophone Immigration.

In April 2014, she was promoted to the position of Immigration Manager. In this capacity, she oversees the planning, application and assessment of all FCFA Francophone immigration initiatives. She also supervises the officer responsible for coordinating the 13 Réseaux en immigration francophone (Francophone Immigration Networks, RIFs) at the national level.
