It is wise to request a copy of your credit report at least once a year.
Reviewing your credit report can help you find out if someone has opened unauthorized financial accounts, or taken out unauthorized loans, in your name. In Canada, the two main credit reporting agencies are Equifax Canada at 1-800-465-7166 and Trans Union Canada at 1-877-525-3823, www.tuc.ca.
